Windows ran out of memory
-Are you running 32bit Office 2010 or 64bit Office 2010 (Office, not Windows) You can find out from File --> Help --> About Microsoft Excel. My system says 14.0.7173.5000 (64 bit) The reason I ask is that if you're doing heavy processing with a lot of data and you're running 32 bit office, this could give rise to this situation.
In many cases, an "out of memory" message is misleading, since your whole system really did not run out of memory. Instead, certain areas of memory (Microsoft calls "heaps") used by Windows have run low on space. Windows maintains an area of memory for operating system resources. The maximum size of this area is 128K, in two 64K areas.
When running scripts in a large environment, you could run into an exception in PowerShell telling you it’s out of memory. To get the value of the amount of memory available per shell, run the following command: The PowerShell MaxMemoryPerShellMB quota defaults to only 150MB in v1 and v2, and 1024MB in v3.
If you’re reading this, you are most likely dealing with an issue regarding a 64-bit Windows machine (such as Windows 2008 Server, Windows 2012 Server, Windows 7, Windows 10 and so on) and a rather old, 32-bit (x86) executable file with some memory issues.Dpr hammertech online registration
Windows ran out of memory
Thanks so much for this article. Turns out my issue was the Windows Update problem on Windows 7. I tested by just disabling the update service and run-away memory problem went away. Really appreciate your research – I was pretty stymied by this until I found your posting
The system will run out of memory when resizing or creating a texture or buffer object, which we do fairly frequently. When running out of video memory, one of four things will happen: 1) The OpenGL call reports GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY which we receive synchronously through the GL_KHR_debug callback.
According to the most popular definition, a memory leak is a result of incorrect memory management when "an object is stored in memory but cannot be accessed by the running code." In addition, "memory leaks add up over time, and if they are not cleaned up, the system eventually runs out of memory." Hi, I have had similar issues in the past, and you have two reasons why this will happen. I work mainly with Matlab and cuda, and have found that the problem of Out of Memory given in Matlab while executing a CUDA MexFile is not allways caused by CUDA being out of memory, but because of Matlab and the CPU side being without memory.
